Changelog

What changed, and when

Written by the people who made the change. Fixes are listed with the same weight as features, because a fix is usually what somebody was waiting for.

Version 1.3

August 6, 2025

Interview prep and the questions this role is likely to ask

  • Interview prep now generates a set of questions specific to the role and the company, not a generic list. Each question comes with an answer outline drawn from the candidate's actual background.
  • Added a follow-up question for each prep item, so practice runs can go a level deeper than the opening question.
  • Prep now flags which of the candidate's real experiences is the strongest source for each answer, so there is something to anchor on before the room.

Version 1.2

June 11, 2025

Gap-to-close and the gap summary

  • The fit score now comes with a gap summary: each requirement the resume does not meet, named specifically, so the candidate knows what the interviewer is likely to ask about.
  • Gap-to-close suggestions on Seeker and Pro. For each gap, Beacon shows one concrete action that would address it: a course, a project, a way to demonstrate the skill, or a framing for the interview question.
  • Fixed a case where a skill listed in a job post's 'preferred' section was scored with the same weight as a required one.

Version 1.1

Cover letters that know which role they are for

  • Cover letters now open with the specific role and company, not a generic greeting. If the job post names a team or a product, the letter addresses it.
  • The body paragraph structure changed: role fit in the first paragraph, two or three specific examples in the second, and a genuine close in the third. No more four-paragraph letters that say the same thing twice.
  • Added the copy button to every cover letter output, which is the most used control in the product.

Want something on this list? Tell us. Most of what ships here started as someone saying a tailored output missed something, or that interview prep did not go deep enough.
